California has made history by passing Proposition 1, which will finally provide the mental health and homeless services that we so desperately need. CAVSA is proud to have been a strong supporter of the measure and we look forward to rolling up our sleeves and getting to work. This measure means we can finally do things right by fixing what was broken and providing care to those who need and deserve it most – including the 1.6 million veterans that reside in the state. A dedicated $1 billion will go toward helping the veterans that have served our country and risked their lives.

“I am thrilled to see my fellow Californians make their voices heard and vote in favor of Proposition 1. So much work remains to encourage recovery, prioritize wellness, and build a more secure and hopeful future for our nation’s heroes throughout California. The funding that this new legislation provides is critical and will help CAVSA member agencies, and many other Veteran-serving organizations, develop and build affordable housing and provide the essential support services that these vulnerable veterans need to ensure their stability and wellbeing,” said Stephen Peck, CAVSA Board President and U.S.VETS President & CEO.
